Click it or Ticket Enforcement | Columbia Borough Police Department

The Columbia Borough Police Department will participate in a national "Click It or Ticket" (CIOT) Seat Belt Enforcement initiative from May 14, through June 3, 2018.

The effort will focus largely on nighttime enforcement, between the hours of 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM using Traffic Enforcement Zones and Roving Patrols. Traffic Enforcement Zones combine stationary enforcement and checkpoint tactics on roadways with high numbers of unbuckled crashes. Citations will be issued to motorists who are caught unbuckled or transporting unrestrained children.

They should crack down on drivers who let passengers sit in the front seat when they are under the age of 12 or do not meet the weight requirements.

How about all yhe drivers slowing and going at every stop sign in town

While I agree with the idea (and PennDOT recommends it)it is not the law that a child under 12 has to sit in the back seat. The law is that any child age 8 to 18 must be belted. It does not say where they have to sit. Also, this section of law is a primary offense and police can stop you for that alone. (Unlike the law for those over 18 who are unbelted, then it is a secondary offense and police must stop you for another violation before citing you for the adult seat belt infraction.

How about looking into people who also drive without a license around town?
